ADNOC Logistics & Companies has unveiled the UAE’s first remotely operated offshore touchdown craft vessel, a 60-metre unmanned platform designed to enhance security, effectivity and emissions efficiency throughout offshore operations.
Developed with SeaOwl and launched throughout Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week 2025, the vessel makes use of AI-enabled techniques, satellite-linked controls and distant operation from ADNOC L&S’s middle in Mussafah. The design eliminates onboard crew lodging, lowering weight, enhancing gas use and enabling steady operations.
Based on ADNOC L&S, the vessel’s AI-driven route optimisation is predicted to chop carbon emissions by as much as 30% in contrast with typical crewed vessels. A hybrid energy administration system will additional cut back gas consumption.
Development of two prototypes is scheduled to start by the top of 2025, with supply deliberate for the fourth quarter of 2026, adopted by sea trials and security validation in UAE waters. Onboard AI techniques permit the vessel to take care of protected autonomous operation if communication is quickly misplaced.
“This milestone displays ADNOC L&S’s management in redefining the way forward for maritime logistics and marks a strategic leap in our digital transformation journey. By advancing AI-powered distant vessel know-how, we’re enhancing security, lowering emissions, and driving value effectivity throughout our offshore operations whereas supporting ADNOC’s and the UAE’s Internet Zero objectives,” stated Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC L&S.
“This collaboration with ADNOC L&S and the UAE maritime authorities units a brand new world benchmark for autonomous automobile operations. It brings collectively superior teleoperation and AI capabilities to reshape the way forward for offshore logistics,” added Xavier Genin, CEO of SeaOwl.
